Origin
Our brackets are derived from the two outer sixths of the Engineers Australia hexagon, giving them a strong connection to our brand and instantly conveying belonging and pride.
They should always be used as a pair and primarily appear in our signature red. When placed over images with red or similar hues, the brackets can be switched white to maintain visibility and ensure they stand out.

Framing type
Brackets can be used to frame typography – either single words or a line of feature copy. When used to frame type, brackets serve as an endorsement of the Engineers Australia brand, and should be applied appropriately and with consideration.

Framing imagery
Brackets can be used in combination with imagery to frame a focal point in the composition – either a person, situation or innovation.

Our iconography supports clear communication by distilling complex ideas into simple, recognisable forms. Each icon is designed with precision and intent, reflecting the clarity and rigour that underpin engineering practice.
Consistent geometry, balanced proportions, and minimal detail ensure our icons remain accessible across all sizes and applications. When used thoughtfully, they strengthen our visual system and reinforce Engineers Australia’s commitment to clarity, integrity, and purposeful design.
